AUGUST 31 QUICK CHESS
10SS. Time control is game in ten minutes. Entry fee is $20, $15 for women. Prize fund is 80% of (entries minus $40), with at least one class prize. Registration is 12:30-12:50 am. Round times are starts at one, then ASAP. With a smaller field, you’ll play two games against each opponent instead of one. NS USCF/ MSCA

FIRST PRIZE OF $300 GUARANTEED.
Six games,
swiss pairings. Time control is game in 90 minutes with 10 sec. delay. Round times are Saturday at 10-2-6(asap), and Sunday at 9-1-5(asap)USCF Rated, so national membership required. Entry fee $30 by Sept. 17th., $40 at the door. Register from 9:00-9:45am. Early entries should go to Bill Murray, 8348 Riverview Lane, Brooklyn Park, MN. 55444. IMPORTANT STUFF:
Please pre-enter early and if you can not make it, E-mail Bill by Friday and he will tear up your check.
Up to two byes available for any round, but must be requested before start of tournament.
We need to close registration by 9:45 to make last minute room adjustments and make pairings by 10:00.
I do not know how to set your clock.
There is a restaurant on site with reasonable prices. Get a receipt and drop it in the container at the TD's table. This is important!
Free parking. Bus routes nearby.
Room rates about $119.
Not an MSCA tournament but membership encouraged.

WEEKDAY EVENINGS AT THE BRIDGE CENTER:

MONDAY ACTION QUADS RESTARTED (9/13)
Register at the Bridge Center from 6:30 to 7:00. Games start at 7:15. Entry fee is $12

 

Thursday Knighters
Four
or five round swiss tournament, with a game played each Thursday of the month, starting at 7:30 PM.  Castle opens at 6:45   Time Limit: Game/2 hrs.     Register: First Thursday, before the start of the first round.   Entry Fee:  $15.     Prizes: Winners get free or reduced entry next month, with participation counting towards an invitation to Club Championship.  Most games done by 11:00.

Houseman welcome!
Any day that we are open, any event that we run, if we have an odd number of players, we are more than happy to let any visitor play as a houseman. This means you play for free, but are ineligible for prizes. The only requirement is that you be a member of the United States Chess Federation. You can join at our club for $49 (USCF is running some specials at this time.)  a year's membership, less for juniors. You must be a current member, as all of our events are rated, and these are the people who keep track of the ratings.
